#HikeTogether in Africa

On 18th of July 2020, in northern Uganda in Gulu city, small sub-county called (Aswa) in Uganda and in Ogun state, Nigeria was implemented a #HikeTogether event. The event was organized by Rubangakene Quido, program manager of International Movement for African Children /IMAC/. Project “Hike together” contributes to raising awareness of the importance of health benefits of physical activity through walking in nature – as a natural exercise through increased participation in hiking and trekking. Project “Hike together” is focused on young people from disadvantage background, to promote hiking and walking in the nature is a basic to many sporting activities, wellbeing and fitness. Hike together encourage social inclusion and equal opportunities in sport.

The #HikeTogether challenge, implemented in Africa was part of the “Twin city volunteering challenge”- Dissemination events in each partner country. The volunteering event in local natural area was used for walking in the nature and to promote volunteering by the activity in local area.
